View Article  Getting ready for the big trip

With just a couple of months to prepare and organise a delivery crew until we set out on our voyage back to the UK,  our attentions are turning to the seemingly endless list of jobs, equipment and stores needed. Everything about this vessel is geared to warm water sailing and the modifications required to complete a blue water passage through the western Mediteranean, north along the coast of Portugal and across the Bay of Biscay are focusing our attention at the moment, from EPIRBs to spray hoods, charts and almanacs to warm socks… and waterproofs!

Over the next few weeks we will endeavour to update this blog with our plans, thoughts and solutions to the endless obstacles that will present themselves. Once underway we will be posting  regular updates of the passage and  will also be reviewing the performance of the various items of equipment in the hope that our experiences will benefit other yachtsmen contemplating similar trips.

We will be accompanied by celebrity chef, Nigel Bloxham, for part of the passage. His acclaimed Crab House Restaurant in Weymouth, Dorset specialises in seafood and we will be posting recipes and tips for feeding a hungry crew at sea from the 'catch of the day', so keep an eye out for those.

Please add us to your favourites list and follow the adventure as it unfolds.
